1962 Dkfm. Dr. Walter Stauffer establishes an auditing and tax advisory firm.
1976 Dkfm. Dr. Stauffer admits his first partner - Dkfm. Wolfgang Gassner: the firm becomes Auxilia Treuhand GmbH.
1994 Auxilia Treuhand becomes a member firm of the international BDO network, the fifth largest worldwide professional services organisation (BDO stands for the founder members, Messrs Binder, Dijker and Otte).
1996 BDO Auxilia acquires UNICONT Revisions- und Treuhand-GmbH, an old established Viennese firm of tax advisers.
2006 The firm Lechner Linz Treuhand Wirtschaftsprüfungs- und Steuerberatungs-GmbH joins the BDO Group network, becoming the BDO representative in Upper Austria.
2010 As part of the international BDO New Naming Project, BDO Auxilia Treuhand GmbH becomes BDO Austria GmbH. In order to expand and strengthen BDO’s presence in eastern Austria, BDO Austria GmbH takes a successful strategic stake in Burger & Partner Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft m. b. H. BDO Upper Austria, with its head office in Linz strengthens its presence in the region with offices in Eferding and Ottensheim.
2015 65 experts from Grant Thornton join the BDO network, under the firm name BDO Agitas GmbH, continuing the expansion of our expertise in the areas of auditing, tax advisory services, accounting, financial advisory services, and forensic, risk & compliance services.
2016 BDO expands its advisory services by acquiring the firm of Strametz & Partner, which now operates under the name of BDO Consulting GmbH. This firm provides a complete spectrum of services in the executive recruiting, development and diagnostic services sectors.
2017 BDO started a co-operation with Dr. Edelsbacher und Partner Wirtschaftsprüfungs- und Steuerberatungsgesellschaft mbH, which is located in Salzburg. At the beginning of May 2017 BDO strengthen its engagement in Styria and established a new location at Murtal.
2018 BDO grows once again: The Austin | BFP Unternehmensgruppe becomes a full member of BDO in Austria, operating under BDO Styria. Thus, BDO is now the largest provider of audit and consulting services in Styria. BDO will increasingly focus on consulting.
